A proactive Ministry ensuring water security and adequate sanitation for all.
On behalf of the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation, I warmly welcome you to our website. This platform reflects our unwavering commitment to protecting Zambia’s water resources and ensuring equitable access to safe, clean water and sanitation services for all citizens.
The Ministry operates under the Water Resources Management Act and the Water Supply and Sanitation Act, which form the legal foundation for our work. In fulfilling our mandate, we collaborate closely with two key regulators: the Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA), responsible for safeguarding and managing the country’s water resources; and the National Water Supply and Sanitation Council (NWASCO), which ensures high standards of service delivery across the sector.
We further work alongside eleven (11) Water Utility Companies nationwide, whose ongoing efforts help deliver reliable, affordable and sustainable water and sanitation services to communities throughout Zambia.
This website has been developed to inform, engage and connect you with our policies, programmes and ongoing initiatives. I invite you to explore its features as we continue to build a resilient water sector that drives national development and enhances the dignity and well-being of every Zambian.
