The Ministry of Water Development has extended by 60 days the amnesty period for illegal water users to rectify irregularities.
Water Development Minister MIKE MPOSHA says after the expiry of the latest extension, there will be no further extension.
The ministry initially issued a 90 day amnesty before extending it for a further 60 days.
And Mr MPOSHA said the ministry has launched the Zambezi Source Restoration Program to protect the source of the river.
Mr. MPOSHA said during the commemoration of World Rivers Day next week, trees will be planted at the source of the river to reverse environmental degradation.
Meanwhile, the Minister said supply of water to the University Teaching Hospital and the University of Zambia has increased following the commissioning of the Kafue Bulk Water Supply Project.
